      Hikmicro

      Hikmirco Alpex

      $0.00

This is a Comparison of what you should consider when looking at a Hikmirco Alpex

We take a look at the Hikmirco Alpex 4K and Alpex and see how it compares - these are the things that you need to think about when comparing their products with ours

Also the New PARD Night Stalker Mini would be a direct competitor to the Aplex - and the Mini is just $799

      Rangefinder

      Yes

Yes (in this model – cheaper ones don’t)

      No

      Are the comparable?

These are competing scopes for sure – both brands have a 4K version, PARD dropped its lower resolution model as the pricing was almost the same so pointless.

The PARD 4K certainly competes with the cheaper Alpex, that’s just HikMirco’s pricing and if you are considering that scope then you need to consider a full 4K version. As the price isn’t that different in reality but the performance certainly is

      Price

Well there is no contest here – and no PARD is not a cheaper product it’s just better priced

And really for the differences in the actual specs there is a lot of difference in the price …

We are including the Hikmicro Kit price for the torch that you need for a night scope – Dumb extra … that you need

      Eye Relief

PARD has a 100mm Eye Relief – that is like a glass scope – nothing has transformed the usability of Night Vision than a Eye Relief like that – Hikmicros is just 55mm, Pulsar recently announced super long eye relief of 65mm

PARD Introduced this over 2 years ago and its available in nearly all PARD’s scopes

If you haven’t seen what 100mm is like – you need to

      Plus watch this video

      IR Torch

Now here is an absolute flaw with Hikmicro – they don’t come with a IR Torch – you must stick a external torch on them for them to work at night – no Digital will work in darkness without a torch

This is like buying a car and towing the engine around … just stupid

Thats from Hikmicros website - Umm – sorry but that is just crazy

Reasons not to have an external torch

Something else to carry, knock out of alignment, switch position, another battery …

Do you need an external torch with a PARD, nope you don’t out of the box they go some 500-800m on a dark night – watch our videos to see

      Rangefinders

Both brands have the Laser Rangefinders and Ballistics

However Hikmicro does offer a non rangefinder version for $300 less – so does PARD except its only $175 difference and NO ONE would buy them at that price difference

Besides a LRF with ballistics is worth FAR MORE than a $300 difference as well

Keep in mind that with PARD’s ballistics we have shot Sub Sonics to over 400m and High Velocity to over 1200m – Ballistics are a must have with modern digital scopes

      Zoom Ranges

PARD’s come in 3 different sizes, a 4-16, 5.6-22x and the larger 8-32x – each with a different sized optical lens and they work great – Hikmirco comes in 1 size and says up to 3.5 to 28x – that is a factor of 8x, PARD stops at a factor of 4x.

At 4x things still look good, at 8x that’s rubbish your reaching thermal territory for resolution – a 3840 sensor would be at 129,600 pixels at 8x vs 518,400 at 4x … really that’s just a stupid marketing thing and in the field no practically

Watch our Side by Side Video of the 3 PARD scopes to see.

You should choose the magnification range based on what you use in glass scopes really as a starting point

      Weight

There is 444g difference between the 4K models and of course the Alpex requires you to bring another torch and mount to make it work at night – so add to that another 3-600g

      Batteries

Yeah I said Batteries – both of the HikMicros have more than 1 battery – they have 2 internal batteries and the option of a 3rd external battery.

All that extra wiring involved for that – risk of failure points increased for what gain?

What’s the first thing that will fail in time on electronic devices?, drills, vacuums etc – the battery – Internal batteries are a failing point

At least the 4K model will also take an external 18650 – best to hope that the internals don’t suck that to recharge, or you again have a brick – don’t know so you should ask that question.

The smaller Alpex is the same but the external battery is a CR123 size – rechargeable ones of those are 650ma vs a 18650 of 3,500ma.

PARD is simple – runs on 1 x 18650 battery, plenty of those around

      Warranty

Both offer a 2 year warranty

We are able to service and repair around 90% of items here in Whangarei – As to Hikmicro, you’ll need to ask them that
