Leupold Rx-5000 TBR/W Rangefinder
Modern hunting in New Zealand demands more than simply estimating distance. From steep alpine terrain in the Southern Alps to thick bush country in the North Island, hunters need reliable tools that help them navigate terrain, plan stalks, and take ethical shots.
The Leupold RX-5000 TBR/W rangefinder represents a new generation of hunting technology. Designed for serious rifle and bow hunters, it combines extreme ranging performance with advanced GPS pinning and ballistic features that simplify decision-making in the field.
GPS Pinning for Navigation and Game Recovery
One of the standout features of the RX-5000 is its location pinning capability. When connected to the Leupold Control App, hunters can instantly drop GPS waypoints on their phone after ranging a target.
This means you can:
-
Mark the exact location of animals after a shot
-
Plan stalk routes across ridges or valleys
-
Record key landmarks while scouting
-
Navigate remote terrain more efficiently
The system integrates with popular digital mapping platforms, helping hunters track terrain and recover game with confidence.

Precision Ranging for Long-Distance Hunting
The RX-5000 delivers impressive long-range performance, capable of measuring distances up to 5,000 yards on reflective targets and over 3,000 yards on trees. This capability allows hunters to accurately assess distances across large valleys, open tussock country, or alpine basins common throughout New Zealand.
With 8x magnification and a bright red OLED display, targets remain clear and easy to identify even in low-light conditions at dawn or dusk—when many animals are most active.
For extreme distances, the Long Range Mode gathers multiple laser pulses to improve accuracy when ranging distant terrain features or animals. Using a tripod can further stabilise readings when ranging across large landscapes
