The hinged, ergonomic housing features mounting loops and a mounting tab to accommodate bungee cords, zip ties, cable locks, or screws, and a built-in tripod mount permits flexible mounting in various settings.

The soundscapes and wildlife you listen for exist in all climates. Micro 2’s rugged IP67-rated enclosure provides dependable protection for reliable, all-weather performance and peace of mind, so you don’t miss a thing—whether you deploy in heat, sleet, or driving rain.
Inside our Environmental Test Chamber, we repeatedly stress-tested the Micro 2 to withstand extreme humidity and sustained temps of 55℃ and -20℃ before cycling through these extremes. Finally, we submerged Micro 2 in one meter of water for 30 minutes to certify its water resistance.

Use your Bluetooth®-enabled iOS® or Android™ smartphone or tablet to program your GPS location, recording schedule, and settings. Record only peak activity periods or stretch the recorder's battery life over extended deployments. Apply preprogrammed “Quick Start” schedules or configure custom schedule blocks—then use a single configuration file to program multiple recorders.
Check battery and memory card status without disrupting the recorder, and retrieve location and time zone information from sound file metadata when it's time for analysis!

When designing the Micro 2, our engineers precisely measured and qualified the performance of the Micro 2 microphone within its enclosure. The result? You get reliable, consistent performance with clean recordings with few distractions, accelerating analysis and discovery.
